I've been watching videos on YT on how to organise clothes. (There are some wonderful videos out there.) As I was having difficulty cramming fitting all my clothes into drawers and wardrobes I thought a little organisation was called for. It's wonderful what a little origami folding can do - all my tops sorted with a 'worn once' so clothes aren't left lying around.
All my hangers were replaced with velvety ones, initially from Primani, then TKMax and finally Home Bargains (which were the cheaper for the same product). These hangers help to cram fit more items into a small space. They also won't let clothes slip off.
The coloured hangers I had already and were a bargain by from the CS.
I even refolded all my material (that might come in handy one day).
The crafty shelves are looking decidedly organised and believe it or not the contents of the boxes and baskets are sorted too!
I can't touch anything now. I'm afraid to mess it all up!

PS 1. Julie at KC's Court. Please will you email me your address and I'll send off the Nature book for you.
2. I had a great jump in the number of page views the other day. I think someone must have been reading all the previous pages of the blog. I hope it was an interesting read for you and you didn't get too bored with my makes, dos and thoughts!
3. Now I'm off to view how to store tights without them tying themselves in a knot. Oh what a stimulating life I lead.

Enforced captivity within your home due to bad weather certainly paid off. If I send you a ticket, will you sort out all my cupboards too?
ReplyDeleteNow you know that I would be only too glad to but unfortunately I will have to say 'no' as there are plenty more cupboards and shelves to sort here. And you know me, when I've finished I'll just have to go round again as the first lot will be in a real mess.

I'm a natural neat person and get a huge kick out of tidy wardrobes, that looks really sad. I do like a good sort out, I now only have clothes and shoes which I wear, great getting rid of all the just in case stuff.
ReplyDeleteIs that the Kon Mari method, from the book the title of which escapes me? I folded all my tops last year and was blasted to see how many more tops could fit in and still be visible!
ReplyDeleteand the socks and tights stored in shallow trays in twirls look really tidy as well when you get them done!
There must be something in the air...I've had a good sort out of all my knitting paraphanalia. I've paired all my needles up. I've loads!! I've amassed them from mums, mums in law, Nannas and aunties so I can't possibly part from them!! However, what I'm going to do with 16 sets of double pointed needles is beyond me when it took me 2 years to knit one pair of socks!!
ReplyDeleteI fold everything that does not hang, years of training from Granny. I keep my wardrobe to a minimum for day to day wear and if something is not worn in a year then out it goes. I wish my craft room was that tidy, I did spend an hour or so today straightening most of it out. Then collated all the fabric that I want for next week onto the cutting table ready.
ReplyDeleteI really can't be bothered with all that clothes folding. All my wardrobe and cupboard space belongs to me, no one to share it with, so I have plenty of room. If things start looking too full, I send stuff off to the charity shop.
ReplyDeleteWell done to you. I have way too much stuff which is crazy but I have recently reorganised a couple of drawers. At least it's a start.
