Perhaps I should have gone out and just bought a wedding card. Such a lot of mess and such a lot of time spent in researching, cutting, snipping, arranging and glueing.
I made a little card pocket to contain a gift of money using the idea from this site.
I thought I'd make a larger card aswell - as you do!
The wedding is later on this week. Hope the weather stays fine.
Do you buy cards or make them?
Oh such a beautiful card!!! I try to make most of our cards, messy stuff, Ha For me it works best to make a bunch at a time then be done with the mess
ReplyDeleteSo pretty. I have to admit to buying my cards these days, though I have made them in the past. The thing with home made cards is that you can personalise them. I'm always thrilled with home made and appreciate the effort that's gone in to making them.
ReplyDeleteI'm always full of good intentions, but in the end I usually buy them! Next time .....!

I make my own cards. Tho the poor recipients get a copy of one of my paintings. The only messy bit is the pritstik that sticks the miniscule photo of said painting onto card, which is bought and envelope ditto.
ReplyDeleteNot so clever as you lol I buy them but always make sure they are blank and I write a little poem or say my own words...the card looks lovely well done.
ReplyDeleteI havent made any cards myself but I have friends who do and I love their individuality. The wedding card is lovely and will be appreciated I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteLovely card. I always buy mine - just don't have the patience.
ReplyDeleteI used to make a lot of cards, tried to sell them but no one was interested so I ended up using them myself. Nowadays I don't make them, or buy them either. Postage is too expensive. I don't mind if people don't send me one.
ReplyDeleteGood for you for making a card. I enjoy making them as long as I have the time.

I make my own cards and try sell to other people too. I take them to church bazaars, etc, to try to recoup some of the costs of my hobby. I love to receive hand made cards too.
ReplyDeleteHandmade always. I've spent too much on stuff to make them for my DH to let me get away with buying another one, ever!!
ReplyDeleteArwedd xx
I love the hand made cards but am useless at making them so I compromise and buy or trade for them from friends who can make them well. I don't mind paying extra for a hand made card. Yours looks lovely xx
ReplyDeleteThat is a beautiful card. I make all my own cards - haven't bought one in years. Made all the invitations for my daughter's wedding too. I also make for all the family to send. I used to sell quite a few at the school where DH taught but that avenue dried up when he left, so now its just family and friends.
ReplyDeleteI used to make many more cards, stopped a few years ago, although i did just manage to make a couple of birthday cards on a whim last week. I make a load of mess everywhere and worse, it usually hangs around for weeks afterwards! or i put all the rubbish into my craft box and that stays there forever!! Your wedding card is fantastic! The process is totally worth all the effort. I love the everlasting xmas card idea and think I'll try that with a few people.
