The trouble with growing your own is that everything has to be picked, sorted and dealt with, which takes a lot of time and effort.
The great thing about growing your own is that everything is fresh, natural, without preservatives (the odd slug here and there) and delicious. Plus the bounty can be shared with friends.

I think its one of the best feelings in the world being able to grow your own food I have always grown a few things but now I am in a position to grow everything I want and its a magical feeling. Enjoy all your lovely fruit I can see lots of crumbles, jam and cordial making for you maybe? :-) dee x
ReplyDeleteAh, how fortunate you are ;) Looks like you're going to be busy for the next day or so...
ReplyDeleteif I were closer I would buy some off of you, they look yummy!
ReplyDeleteThey look lovely quality, ours were finished several weeks ago and because of the dry weather the plants look dead too.Plenty of raspberries now
ReplyDeleteIt's definitely worth all the effort though. Your strawberries look delicious, my harvest is very poor this year as the plants are ones we inherited and I think they're past their best, plus I've been so short on time that the strawberry bed as been allowed to grow a little wild which is never good.
ReplyDeleteLucky you xxx
ReplyDeleteLooks like you've got a great crop this year! Enjoy!

How wonderful - I'm rather envious as I don't have a garden. I did grow some strawberries in a pot but I think my total yield was about 7, then one of them had been nibbled on! xxx
ReplyDeleteWow , They look gorgeous i have had about 12 strawberry's all summer xxx
ReplyDeleteSo, will the Mum household shelves be filled with strawberry jam soon? xx
