Just had a great day at the Tower. The new entrance is stunning both from the outside ...
… and the inside.
My friends and I danced,
Ignore the blur. |
went up the Tower,
and then went to the Circus. Wow, it was spectacular.
The write up here is true and more. I wish I could find some videos of the acts. They were superb - each and every one of them.
I'm off jiving now.

PS Here's another write up.
PPS I've found a video of one of the acts.
and here's another similar act.
That glass floor looks so scary! I've been in it once and confess I was petrified!
ReplyDeleteThe new entrance is beautiful. I haven't seen it in the flesh yet, Dan too a picture from a bus the other day.
ReplyDeleteThe interior is beautiful too, so different to what I was expecting. The detail is amazing.

Love the ballroom, not been there for many years. I can almost hear the organ now.
ReplyDeleteAgree about the glass floor, it made my tummy tumble just looking at the picture x
ReplyDeleteIt is good that the Tower is being well looked after and loved, all these years after it was built. That must have been an amazing view from the top!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you had a wonderful time. You're braver than I am standing on that glass floor.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Mum for this lovely post.
ReplyDeleteI so enjoyed it and it brought a tear to my eye.
Blackpool is so dear to me, it is many years ago now that I was there and you brought it a little closer.
I spent many happy years living in North Shore, a great many life changing events happened to me in that time, including marriage, widowhood after one year and then another marriage. (North Shore Methodist Church). That marriage led me to America in 1990. So a lot of history for me, Blackpool is a dear friend, I hope to visit again in the future.

Pam, I've had a few dances at NSMC and know it well. Blackpool has a lot to say about itself as well as 'not a lot' to say. People either like it or they don't. It's my hometown and I was born here so I'm a Sand grown-un. Now I'm retired I'm enjoying the best bits of life in Blackpool. I do hope you are able to visit in the future. You will see many changes for the better. There's still a long way to go though.

That's lovely Mum.
DeleteI always look forward to your posts and a taste of "home". After all these years I still consider Blackpool to be home.
Can I ask in what area you live, just so that I can picture you.
I lived in North Shore, close to Gynn Square.
Best wishes,
Pam in TX. xx
That glass floor makes my tummy do flip-flops. Love the view though.
