Our 1920's house has stained glass windows and this one was originally at the back of the house. We've extended further and so it is now between the family room and the kitchen. The door into the family room is beneath it. Other houses on the block have had plastic windows put in but they have still retained their stained glass and incorporated it into their units.

What a gorgeous window! You are so lucky to have some stained glass in your home.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Lovely window. Your window is protected from the elements, but it is lovely to hear some people have kept their windows too after having plastic windows put in. Are all the other windows in the block the same or slightly different?

Oh, I love stained glass windows :D
ReplyDeleteThat's a remarkable stained glass window! A real piece of art to be cherished a nd protected.
ReplyDeleteWe have a chap in the village who restores stained glass windows. The bulk of his work is placing old Victorian windows into modern plastic windows, it is good to see them being replaced rather than thrown away.
ReplyDeleteVery nice & so glad you kept it. I dislike seeing good workmanship from days gone by, thrown into the rubbish skips. Take care.
ReplyDeleteHow lovely that you can appreciate the window even more in its inside position.

Lovely that you have kept your window when doing extensions. It is so pretty.
ReplyDeleteThat's a lovely piece of stained glass! However, your Santa mug is a wee bit scary!
ReplyDeleteI love stained glass windows in houses! When I was a little girl, we used to go to a church a few towns away from ours and we used to drive past this Kingfisher stained glass door every time which I looked out for with utter joy. It was a sad day when I went past and it was replaced with plain frosted glass!
