Whizzo

I used my Christmas pressie new food processor to slice up the ingredients for my Bacon and Potato bake.

Bacon and Potato bake

1. Slice up -

onions - I used 2 small.
celery -  I used 1 stalk.
potatoes - I used 2 large.

2. Grate -

cheese - haven't the faintest idea what quantity I used  - however much you want to put in, being aware of how much fat you should be consuming!

3. Dry fry some cut up bacon until nearly cooked.

3. Layer all the ingredients in a baking dish, ending with a layer of potatoes. Cover with about 1/2 pint of stock (I used a veggie stock cube.).  I don't season as there is enough salt in the stock cube.

4. Cover with foil and bake (170 degrees C) for about 30 mins. or until the potatoes are soft. Take off foil and leave another 15 mins in the oven for the potatoes to brown a little.

5. Eat.

PS Thank you to everyone who pulled me up on my, ahem, typing mistake yesterday. The post is amended!

  2. That sounds lovely, I may give it a go. I rarely use my food processor, it sits on the worktop very unloved.

  5. You are going to have fun!
My Kenwood basic processor must be over thirty years old and ( touching wood) is still going strong. Wishing your new one a long life ( and its owner of course!).

  6. I dream of a food processor but have no room in my small kitchen. Dinner looks delish. I make something similar but cook it in the microwave then add the cheese and put it under a hot grill.

  7. Make sure you don't push it to the back of the cupboard and forget about it, ha ha. I got mine out last week, after ten years of non use. Now I need to think of something else to use it for.
