Red or white?

No, not wine but poppies.

Here's my red poppy. Just click on the link to find the pattern I used.

And here's my white poppy, which is sometimes known as a peace poppy. Read more about them here.

Two different patterns and two words to think about - remembrance and peace.

Today let's remember those who have given their lives in order to gain the peace we all wish for.

Just a thought - Do we need war to make peace?

xx

PS A very warm welcome to my new follower.

  1. It's really nice to see the peace poppy mentioned...I like to remember ALL those who dies, not just the soldiers. Re. your question...I don't know what the answer is, but I think we've proved time & time again that violence doesn't work.

  5. We should never forget those who have given their lives in order that we can have freedom, and lovely that the peace poppy is mentioned too. Wouldn't it be lovely to think that no more blood would have to be shed in order for us all to live in harmony.

  6. Red poppies galore being made in Australia - 50,000 was the target but with many hands making light work its far exceeded that.

Similar idea to the Sea of Red' but handmade by ordinary Australians for ANZACS

I think really they are all in the name of peace.

  7. The poppies are lovely. I would wear both because we should never forget those that have died through conflict but also it would be nice if there was no more conflicts in the future. It will never happen but we live in hope.
