It's been a year ...

since a colleague passed away.

For whom the bell tolls

No man is an island,
Entire of itself.
Each is a piece of the continent,
A part of the main.
If a clod be washed away by the sea,
Europe is the less.
As well as if a promontory were.
As well as if a manor of thine own
Or of thine friend's were.
Each man's death diminishes me,
For I am involved in mankind.
Therefore, send not to know
For whom the bell tolls,
It tolls for thee.

(a poem (No man is an island) by John Donne)

  3. It's really scarey how fast a year passes by. And sad that people you have known are no longer here. One of my colleagues passed away just after I finished work, he was so looking forward to his retirement, doesn't seem fair really. Nice of you to dedicate a post for your colleague.
