I was looking through this book for ideas for the Tea Party in 4 day's time.
and came across these chapters on crochet and embroidery.
It shows embroidered or crochet borders for table linen. Nice ideas but too late to put into practice.
On the opposite page was this lady. Now I think it's going a bit far to embroider all your underwear!
Do you remember those crochet bikinis in the 70's? I wouldn't fancy getting out of any water wearing one of those.
ReplyDeleteWill be a fun tea party.
ReplyDeleteI'm one of the organisers to a cake and tea stall on Sunday for our Snake Bean Garden fundraiser. So I will post up pics of that and linky up.
Look forward to seeing everyone up at the linky..
Actually I have a question about Tuesday....do we just visit your blog Mum?
ReplyDeleteSft x
I have that book too - it is very "of it's day" isn't it, but that is what I love about it. xxx
ReplyDeleteI'm busy ironing my dress as we speak!
ReplyDeleteHi sft, yes please visit the blog but I have also put a link on Tuesday's post to people who said they would join in the tea party. Hopefully you will have done or will do a post on your blog about something to do with the party eg talk about travel, recipe for cakes, pictures of pretty plates (with baked beans on toast!), photo of you in all your finery - any post big or small of whatever interests you. That way people who visit this blog will be able to visit yours as well as part of the party. Hope this makes sense. Other people who don't want to post can just comment if they wish or just say hello. Some people may want to put a link to their own blog in the comments if they wish.
ReplyDeleteI hope this makes sense. Get back to me if it doesn't.
Love from Mum
xx
