How I miss the intoxicating scent of lilac blooms. It signals a very specific time of year. There are 2 houses I pass on the way home from my oldest niece's home that have lilac hedges out near the street. I've passed them twice and wanted so badly to stop just to lean in to experience that scent but thought people would think I was some crazy trespasser! Tomorrow I vow to stop by the side of the road to gather in that scent and remember...just remember. Thank you for the photos. Leslie

ReplyDeleteI have no idea why,but Mum wouldn't allow purple lilac in the house...only white blooms were allowed indoors. Some folklore,I guess.

Beautiful, I bet they smell gorgeous. My lilac is blooming away at the moment, it's a darker colour than yours though.
