A little bit of what you fancy

does you good. So firstly - a walk along the promenade.

The weather was warm but there was a slight sea breeze.

Just look at the clouds and the brilliant, blue sky.

The tide was coming in as we walked and talked.

(Why do waves move forwards when the tide is going out? Why don't they move backwards? Why do we have waves? Why doesn't the water just find its own level quickly?)

This is the view from the promenade cafe.

I fancied crocheting something different so I've been practising granny ripples. This pattern makes a row of small flowers.

Look what I collected from the beach.

It reminded me of the colours of my other practice granny ripple.

(Why do I have to start so many projects? Why did I have to buy another ball of wool on the way home? Why do I collect pebbles? Why does my friend pick pebbles and shells off the beach?)

A little bit of what you fancy does you good.

  2. Can't tell if the promenade is modern/newly built or art deco...any way I like it!

  6. I just came to your blog from Briony and was wondering which beach it was - now I know Blackpool. I enjoyed your walk and just love those pebbles.

  7. Love your crochet projects! I too have a hard time not starting 101 projects!! Hate to think how many are in the works right now.

  8. Hello! Found your blog via MeanQueen's...

I've spent years wandering along beaches picking up stones, shells, bits of polished glass... My favourite finds were some fossilised sea urchins on a beach in Norfolk many years ago, but I also have hagstones and other bits and pieces scattered all over the house in dishes and on shelves.
